I mean c'mon, when is enough enough with this fuckin guy? The guy has been arrested 4 times since 2012 and each one keeps getting worse then the one before. There was the hit and run case involving the pregnant woman, who's arm he broke then he ran off while having a bag of coke in the car, a couple DUI's mixed in there but this one seems to be the most troubling one yet. Jones had two charges brought against him, one was a felony of injuring or tampering with a vehicle and another was for misdemeanor domestic batter......how the domestic battery is a misdemeanor compared to tampering with a car I will never know but I digress. The details that have come out thought I guess are the more disturbing parts of the arrest, it was said that Jones girlfriend took their two kids from the hotel while officers observed blood on her clothing and her lip. Jon's girlfriend said that her lips were apparently just really dry, no that's really what she actually said. She had a swollen lip and a bump underneath her eye but she did not allow photos to be taken nor did she want to interview with the officers. According to the report by ESPN, "prior to being read his Miranda rights, Jones said the Las Vegas Metro PD would be facing a lawsuit for putting him in handcuffs on the biggest night of his life. After his rights were read, Jones "immediately burst into tears," the report stated. The report described Jones as going through an "emotional roller coaster."
Like I said how much longer are we going to keep doing this bullshit? His countless arrests, his PED use and let's all take a step back as well, Jon Jones isn't the world beater he used to be. Now this isn't be saying Jon Jones sucks, cause he doesn't he's still a fuckin top dog in the UFC but he isn't putting that work in the octagon like we remember him doing. His last three fights against Thiago Santos, Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes were all wins yes, but extremely underwhelming compared to the guy he used to be. I'll be blatantly honest too, I full on believe he lost the Reyes fight. Reyes took the fight to The Champ, he pushed the pace and walked Jones down all 5 rounds. His last win was against Alexander Gustafsson, yeah we all wanted to see that rematch but we wanted to see an immediate rematch, not 5 years after the original fight. His big win over DC? Overturned because he again tested positive for PED's. It's funny to look back and think that I actually hated DC and was a big Jon Jones fan, I can't really pinpoint why or give a reason....I just did. Honestly though, he's been talking about moving up to Heavyweight for going on 2 years now, there has been no real inkling of this dude stepping into the cage to fight at heavyweight, yeah there has been some murmurs about it but that's pretty much it. This dude thinks he's fuckin bigger than anyone else in the sport and it's time for the UFC to move the fuck on. I want to consider him one of the best of all time but it's just so god damn hard to do after the countless positive tests for PED's. The UFC needs to focus its attention on other fighters cause way too many good, young, talent and just genuinely good people are getting overlooked by the company. We got guys like Alex Volkanovski, Max Holloway, Brandon Moreno, Jan Blachowicz and the list could go on for days. All those guys I named aren't just incredible fighters to watch but they're actually good humans. It's time to focus away from Jones because it really won't end with his bullshit. How many times is this shit gonna happen and the UFC is just going to let him slide with his bullshit apologies on instagram and twitter.

Recap of UFC 266: Volkanovski retains, Lawler spoils Diaz's return and Valentina is unstoppable9/26/2021 What a great night of fights UFC 266 turned out to be, I figured it would be after looking at the card the UFC put together but sometimes it doesn't deliver, this time it sure as shit did. From top to bottom there was a ton of amazing fights to watch and for the most part? I'd say the UFC delivered and delivered big. Between the Return of Nick Diaz after a 6 year absence away from the sport and two title fights to finish the night? What more could a UFC fan want? Let's recap the main card and anything else that really stood out on this card.
MAIN EVENT: Alexander Volkanovski defeats Brian Ortega via TKO (Featherweight title) This fight was fucking incredible, an absolute war. Both guys showed tremendous heart, Volkanovski weathered a couple really deep submission attempts by Ortega and then when the champ got out of those submissions he was pissed, reigning blows on Ortega and dominating him. Once Ortega couldn't get those submissions you could almost tell the belt was staying with the champ. Volkanovski just weaponizes his pace and he looked incredible last night and I for one cannot wait to see the trilogy fight v's Max. CO-MAIN EVENT: Valentina Shevchenko defeats Lauren Murphy via TKO (Flyweight title) Not really much to say here to be honest and I'm not trying to sound like a dick but I never thought Murphy had any kind of shot against "The Bullet". Murphy could not do a thing against Valentina and she did whatever and whenever she wanted to. In the 4th she landed a combo with a head kick to drop Murphy and finished her with blows on the ground. Murphy literally could not do a fucking thing. Robbie Lawler defeats Nick Diaz via TKO I tell you what, for the first round of this fight I was grinning like an absolute fucking child. These two were just throwing at each other the entire first round. Just like old times, Lawler and Diaz were in a war and the crowd fuckin loveeeeedddd it. The pace Lawler put on, there was no way Diaz was going to be able to keep up, especially after being out for over 6 years. In round 2 Lawler knocked down Diaz and Nick kind of waved the fight off himself. I'm not sure what happened, he grabbed his knee for a brief second, it looks like his nose was broken, I honestly don't know. Hats off to both men for putting on an absolute show for everyone watching. Curtis Blaydes defeats Jairzinho Rozenstruik via UD Not really much to talk about here, the fans booed Blaydes for basically playing it safe against Jairzinho but to be honest I don't hate it against a guy with his punching power. Was it the prettiest fight? Nope. Did he get a much needed win? Yup. Don't boo the guy for doing what he did to get the win, good for Blaydes for getting himself back into the win column. Jessica Andrade deafts Cynthia Calvillo via TKO Kind of the same stuff with these girls, Andrade will win any fight but a title one. Calvillo will win every fight but a marquee one. Cynthia is an incredible fighter but she just can't seem to get that marquee win under belt and just keeps coming up short with the spotlight on her. Andrade is just an absolute beast, unless she fights for a belt. Outside of the fluke slam win for the belt over Rose, Andrade is basically just racking up big wins that end up amounting to nothing. OTHER NOTABLES: Merab Dvalishvili defeats Marlon Moraes via TKO What a god damn fight, Marlon completely empties the gas tank in the first round after he wobbles Merab but just cannot finish him. Merab ends up coming back and finishing Marlon in round 2 for the TKO win. Merab is a dangerous guy in the batamweight division and you better start putting some respect on this guys name. Dan Hooker defats Nasrat Haqparast via UD Hooker with a huge bounce back performance after his loss to Michael Chandler. Hooker owned this fight and had his way with Nasrat. He landed on the feet and even took him down and controlled the ground game too. Just an overall perfect performance by Hooker and it showed on the judges score cards, one judge even score one round a 10-8 one. Chris Daukaus defeats Shamil Abdurakhimov via TKO Chris Daukaus is a name to watch out for in the UFC heavyweight division, he has absolute dynamite in his hands and is so fun to watch. Just dominating Shamil on the feet throwing heavy bombs until he knocked him down and finished him with elbows and punches. An overaall awesome night of fights. I think for the champ Alex Volkanovski it's gotta be the trilogy fight with Max "blessed" Holloway, everyone needs and wants to see it. As for Ortega I'd love to see him go against Calvin Kattar, would be a matchup of styles and both guys are coming off losses. Shevchenko? Who the hell knows what's next for her looking at the rankings she's beat them all and frankly I am not sure who can beat her or even pose any kind of threat. I....I honestly do not have any idea how any of this is going to play out. The Sabres have stood strong on their stance by having the Doctors check on Jack and what they want him to do. Jack has also stood strong on his stance of the surgery he wants. Now we're in the middle of and old western standoff, who's gonna blink first? Kevyn Adams came out at his presser today talking about how throughout this entire process with Jack their main focus has been Eichel's health as a person, he stated they were hoping to work this offseason to avoid surgery but Jack failed his psychical and Jack isn't willing to move forward with what the team doctors want for him. Adams also stated that he spoke to the team yesterday and made it clear that Eichel is no longer the captain of the Buffalo Sabres saying "the captain is the heartbeat of the team and we are in a situation where we felt that we needed to address that and make that decision". Adams talked about how he talks to Jack's new agent a couple times a day and reiterated that they worked/hoped a resolution would have been made by now. Jack has been pretty adamant about the surgery he wants to get and as of right now, there's not a chance in hell that he's changing his mind on that. My concern is I genuinely don't know what the hell is going to happen in the end. Do teams across the league think Jack is damaged goods at this point? I've stated before I wanted the kings ransom for this guy but as the situation gets more drawn out, it's looking like there is no chance of that happening. At first I thought we could get a couple first round picks, a solid prospect and a player that can play now. Shit, now it looks like we'll be lucky to get half of that for Eichs. All I know is Adams better make the right deal for Eichel because no one wants to see a repeat of the Ryan O'Reilly trade, we all fuckin know how that turned out. Here is my ending point......I was one of the last guys who stuck up for Jack and wanted him to be in Buffalo to help make this team succeed, now I'm not saying I don't like Eichel because I do. I think Eichel is a top 10-15 player in the league when he's on his game but the fact of the matter is he doesn't want to be in Buffalo anymore, so I want to see a trade for him get done and get done soon. I never wanted this to get ugly but it seems like bridges haven't been burned they've been absolutely blown up. The relationship between Eichel and the Sabres isn't repairable and I've made peace with that, to be honest I'm angry with how both sides handled the situation. I wasn't a fan of Eichel's end of the year presser where he basically stated he's a prisoner and can't do what he wants and I'm pissed at the organization for absolutely bottling the handling of another superstar who should of been the big focus of this re-build. Since the Pegula's bought this team it has been nothing but sadness and dark days for Sabres fans, some of the best fans in hockey and we deserve better than the product they put out for us. The Pegula's have show time and again they don't care about this team, so sell it and go pay attention to the Bills because I for one am sick and fucking tired of being the laughing stock of the NHL.
It genuinely pains me to write this blog, mainly because if anyone knows me they know my hatred for the New York Islanders. Listen, I think the Islanders are the most boring team to watch in the NHL but I can't argue with the results on the ice. When they added Zdeno Chara on the blueline it's a bigger move for this team than people may think. The Isles are already a good team and adding a veteran leader like Chara is a huge move. He is gonna have a different role now, he doesn't have to be the top guy playing 23 minutes a night. Big Z is gonna be a big part of the Islanders power play with his slap shot that could literally kill a man. With their captain Anders Lee coming back the Islanders could unfortunately make a deep playoff run again. Lou Lamoriello really constructed a fantastic roster when building this team, they have everything from goal scorers, role players, solid defenseman and good leadership. They have one of the better 1-2 punches in net with Ilya Sorokin and Semyon Varlamov and with signing Adam Pelech to an absolute steal of a deal this off season(8 years $5.75 AAV) the defense is set up nice for awhile. Genuinely one of the things I love the most about this team is their depth with guys like Casey Cizikas and Austin Czarnik who can both score big and timely goals. You got guys like Barzal, Panik, Bailey and Nelson who all have 30 goal season potential. The bottom line is the Isles have potential to be real dangerous this year, the system they play in is already a real bitch to play against and with the additions they've made all they've done is get better. In closing I hope the Islanders suck and Cal Clutterbuck still stinks.
With the NHL season right around the corner and me unfortunately being a Buffalo Sabres fan, I figured I'd have a little fun and make my predictions for this years NHL awards. Some picks may be chalk picks, others? May be a little out there but I guess that's the point when you do predictions this early. So let's get after it and see how badly I can mess this up......
Hart Trophy(MVP)- Auston Matthews C, Toronto Maple Leafs I didn't go chalk with the first pick here, I genuinely was gonna go with McDavid but I just think Matthews is gonna have a huge year for the Leafs. They're gonna be pissed off and need to play up to their level finally or this team is gonna get broken up, mainly because there needs to be change if they can't get it done this year. Norris Trophy(Best Defenseman)- Cale Makar D, Colorado Avalanche Weird to say with all the talented defenseman in the NHL but this was sort of an easy one for me. Makar has one of if not the most talented rosters around him and he can do it all offensively and defensively. He puts up points and that's what the voters look for now. Vezina Trophy(Best Goaltender)- Andrei Vasilevskiy G, Tampa Bay Lightning This was the easiest one for me to pick and it's not even close. Vassy is the best goalie in the world and there is no questioning that. He's one of the few who doesn't even play in a two goalie system, he's the guy night in and night out. Ted Lindsay Award(most outstanding player)- Connor McDavid C. Edmonton Oilers Do I honestly have to explain this pick? I already gave the MVP to someone else McDavid is the best player in the NHL and he'll probably win this or the Hart trophy for the next 10 years. Calder Memorial Trophy(Rookie Of The Year)-Lucas Raymond RW, Detroit Red Wings This one may be a shocker to a lot of people with names like Caufield and Zegras out there but my thought is this.....The Red Wings aren't going to be good again so they need someone to step up outside of Dylan Larkin and I think Raymond can be that guy. He was the #4 overall Pick in the 2020 NHL draft from Sweden and he'll make the jump to the NHL with ease. I think he stats will be pretty inflated seeing how the Wings are still rebuilding. Zegras was a close second for me, mainly for the same reasons and how bad LA will be. Jack Adams Award(Best Coach)- Gerard Gallant, New York Rangers I think the Rangers already have a solid team and having Gallant as the head coach makes them much better. They have studs like Pannarin and Fox, added Barclay Goodrow who adds a winning pedigree. If the Rangers win the division or come close? It's a slam dunk for coach of the year. Frank Selke Award(Best defensive forward)- Patrice Bergeron C, Boston Bruins This is a bit of a chalk pick, Bergeron has been doing it for years and hasn't slowed down at all. He's still at the top of his game and has the ability to shut down any top player in the NHL. Lady Byng Award(Most Gentlemanly Player)- William Karlsson C, Las Vegas Golden Knights Not only is William a stud but he's one of the least penalized players in the NHL. He played in 56 games last season and had only 4 penalty minutes. This is an award that can go to anyone, to be honest most of these guys don't even wanna win this award. Now, when I say top 10 wrestlers I mean the best in ring performers not the best promo guys or best guys on the mic but strictly wrestling talent. Some of the best promo guys in the business are sure not the best in ring performers in the business. Although Roman Reigns is having the year of his career, I wouldn't necessarily say he's one of the best wrestlers. You can say that for a lot of top guys in m opinion, Bobby Lashley, Roman Reigns, Damian Priest, too be blunt I wouldn't put any of these guys in the Top 10. This is my list of wrestlers strictly in the ring, that night in and night out just put on a fucking show inside the ropes. This isn't anything special, this is just be doing "the eyeball test" and this is who I got as the Top 10 wrestlers in the wrestling industry today. 10) Roman Reigns(WWE) Reigns is easily doing the best work in the ring since he started in the WWE. The current Smackdown Heavyweight Champ is the top dog in WWE and for good reason. In my opinion Paul Heyman has helped with Reigns development so much, whether it be in or out of the ring. To think, if WWE made this heel turn with him and the Uso's 4 years ago like they should have? Man the Tribal Chief would have been one of the most over heels ever. 9) Will Ospreay (NJPW) Night in and night out the aerial assassin puts on an absolute show no matter what company he's wrestling for. No matter who Ospreay is wrestling it's always must see TV. He's had classics with Ricochet, Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, Walter and the list can go on or days. Some of the shit this guy does in the ring will leave you jaw dropped and I for one never miss this dude wrestle. 8) Malachi Black (AEW) HOW DID WWE LET THIS GUY GO?!? Formerly Aleister Black in WWE, Black could do anything in the ring. He could do springboards off the rope then two seconds later he'll hit you with a Black Mass finisher. Black is really one of the best all around wrestlers in the entire world and WWE really fucked up letting him go, he is future champion material and it's not even a question. 7) Charlotte Flair (WWE) Charlotte maybe the best women's wrestler of all time. She's an absolute genetic freak, whether it be the moonsault's off the top rope or her incredible feats of strength in the ring, like when she picks up another woman to power bomb her. She really is a pro and I for one cannot remember a bad match that she's had and if there is one I'm sure the fault doesn't lie with her. 6) Kota Ibushi(NJPW) Ibushi is another guy, you can't say it enough. He's been doing it for years and he's just so god damn consistent. He's had legendary feuds with Omega and the bullet club. In NJPW Ibushi is always going to have the time in the ring too, so he can always put on one hell of a match. 5) Drew Mcintyre(WWE) Drew has completely re-invented himself since he first left the WWE and since he's come back he's been an absolute monster. I thought his match this year with Lashley was going to be an absolute shit show going into Mania but it was not that at all. It was honestly one of the better matches of Mania weekend. Unfortunately for him he's in the WWE so he'll be put in more gimmick matches soon while they wait to see what they want to do with him. 4) Jon Moxley I think Mox is an a beast plain and simple. The fact this guy can put on a legit wrestling match one night then go and do that insane death match shit is absolutely ridiculous. He's done everything, won all the belts he could in WWE, won the AEW title, Moxley is a legend and in my opinion I think he's genuinely underrated. 3) Pentagon Jr. (AEW) Pentagon may in fact me a literal insane person. The moves he does to people and to himself in the ring look like they could really paralyze a guy. His hard hitting style is incredible and he compliments it so well with his high flying maneuvers. Pentagon doesn't get his just due in my opinion but I'm hear saying that he's one of the best in the world. 2) Finn Balor(WWE) Most people who know me are gonna consider this a real homer pick, I've been signing Balor's praises since before he was even in the WWE. I think Balor, when given time can put on a match like no other in the industry. Balor is another guy like Pentagon, he can fly in the air or he'll use his sneaky power to deliver a devastating looking move. Balor should be a champ in WWE but it seems every time he gets his hands on a belt it's not long before WWE takes it off of him. 1) Kenny Omega (AEW) I mean, for me this is a layup for #1. I don't really re-call ever seeing a Kenny Omega match that was bad....ever. For Christ sake when he was in NJPW he wrestled a 9 year old girl and he even put that match over big. The Cleaner really is a star and now people in the states are seeing how good this guy really is. With Omega being in AEW he is more accessible to the North American audience than he's ever been and in no way is that a bad thing. He's put on more 5 star matches than anyone ever, not that means much to me because I think most of those rankings by Dave Meltzer are kind of a joke but if anyone deserves 5 stars in most of his matches? It is Omega HONORABLE MENTIONS: Kofi Kingston(WWE) Adam Cole(AEW) Kyle O'Reilly(NXT) Andrade(AEW) Nakamura(WWE) Sami Zayn(WWE) Kevin Owens(WWE) AJ Styles(WWE) Wrestling now-a-days isn't like it was back in the day. Now? Everyone loves a good heel. Nothing is better than a good heel, like I said....everyone loves a good heel now. Back in the 1970's-80s people thought this shit was real and would follow these guys around town to town looking to kill them. Now the heel is the cool guy and the face is the lame ass nerd. With some many terrible and stupid heel turns that have happened in the history of professional wrestling there are some that were just incredible and seemed to stop time. Let's jump into and take a look at what I think are the greatest heel turns in wrestling history
5) Stone Cold sells his Soul to Vince It was Wrestlemania 17, Austin v's the Rock, an incredible match that ended with Stone Cold......a man who has been feuding with Vince McMahon for years prior to this Wrestlemania, accepting a chair from Vince and beating the Rock and earning the 1-2-3 win. Austin was covered in blood, shaking Vince's hand forming a partnership with Vince, perhaps? No actually, this would have been way higher on my list but the fact that they almost literally did nothing with this heel turn that is why it's so low on the list. It was for sure shocking but the end result of the hell turn was almost nothing. 4) Seth Rollins turns on his Brothers The Shield was the hottest thing in WWE in 2014. The Shield was really white hot, a night after decimating Evolution. Then the next night on Monday Night Raw, Triple H kept talking about how there is always a "Plan B". Turns out that Plan B came in the form of Seth Rollins, Rollins was behind Roman Reigns and leveled him with a steel chair....then Dean Ambrose. Rollins went on to decimate Reigns and Ambrose as Randy Orton entered the ring as Reigns and Ambrose were down. Rollins went on to have a tremendous heel run and has literally been one of the better heels in the past 10 years in wrestling. Plus I want you to re-watch the video of Rollins hit Ambrose with a chair and listen closely to the fan yell "NOOOO!" it is laugh out loud funny every time. 3) Sgt. Slaughter turns his back on America Sgt Slaugher, ARMED FORCES SGT. SLAUGHTER! He turned his back on this country while we were fighting the Gulf War and joined forces with the Iraqi enemy in Colonel Mustafa. Slaughter went from Army Vet to Iraqi sympathizer. This was absolute wild scenes for WWE during this time. Fans wanted Slaughter dead, I mean literally dead, to the point where they had to re-locate his family and move the event due to bomb threats. People actually thought this shit was really and Slaughter aligned himself with the Iraqi's. 2) Shawn Michaels throws Marty Jannetty through the Barbershop window The Rockers, honestly one of my favorite tag teams of all-time, why? On an edition of Brutus The Barber Beefcakes Barbershop, the Rockers were there to patch things up, make things right and become a team again. For a moment there, they did make things right and became the the Rockers again but that was short lived. Right after the hug, Shawn Michaels delivered what may have been the first ever "Sweet Chin Music" to Jannetty" this was such a shocking moment. But god damn was this made so much better by Bobby "the Brain" Heenan on commentary by saying "Oh I just knew he was gonna do that". Michaels proceeded to throw Marty through the barbershop window and once again The Brain delivered one of the greatest lines in WWE history by saying "Jannetty tried to dive through the window to escape, what an act of cowardice". Just an overall perfect and awesome heel turn. 1) Hulk Hogan turns on the Hulkamaniacs and joins the NWO This was absolute insanity, The Hulkster, the all time good guy, the real American, turns his back on all the little kids eating their vitamins and tells us all to fuck right off. Bash at the Beach 1996, The Outsiders and a mystery partner squared off against Sting, Lex Luger and Randy Savage. The entire match everyone was on the edge of their seat wondering who was the Outsiders partner or even if they had a partner. The Outsiders were destroying their opponents then the crowd erupted. Here he was, The Hulkster was here to save the day, he was here to take back WCW and destroy these Outsiders. Then it happened, Hogan turned, he turned on us all....with a prone Macho Man, Hulk delivered a leg drop that was felt for years. Hogan made the turn and created the NWO, one of the most popular factions in the history of the professional wrestling industry. Hulk then got on the mic and delivered a promo shitting on all of the fans and every other person he could. Hogan's heel turn was the best of all-time, mainly because no one saw it coming in a million years |
