Twenty One year old San Francisco Giants reliever Gregory Santos has been suspended 80 games for testing positive for Stanozolol. Santos made his Major League debut on April 22nd and went 0-2 with a
22.50 ERA in two innings over three games. He was sent back down to the minors just six days after his last appearance. The twenty one year old is going to lose almost half of his salary which is just over $46K in the minors but the majors he would be losing over $500K. I don't know man, 80 games? That's a lot of effin games for a first time offender, but I guess now the MLB gives a shit about this kind of stuff. In a league that's allowed cheating forever now it's time for them to pretend to give a shit.

Ok, there it is, the news all Sabres fans have waited for and for the most of us it's no surprise Donny boy got named the Head Coach. Now let me start by saying that I like this hire actually, then again I liked the hiring of Dan Bylsma and Phil Housley. The good news for Sabres fans is, any coaching hire was an upgrade on Ralph Krueger. I like Don Granato, I think he brings great energy to the rink every day and has shown that win or lose this team will compete night in and night out. Granato went 9-16-3 in 28 games as head man for the Sabres after the DISASTROUS Ralph Krueger era. Now I know it's not the best looking butttt he took over in the midst of a 12 game losing streak and it's tough to break such a losing culture like the Sabres had. Granato lost his first 6 games before shit pumping the Flyers to end their skid. So take away those first 6 loses Granato's record is a little better. Now that the Sabres have their guy, what's next for the Sabres?
Ugh I hate talking about this, mainly because I've talked about it at nauseum but....first up is, what's going to happen with Jack Eichel. Many/most big time NHL reporters have said Eichel's time is up in Buffalo and it's just a matter of time until they pull the trigger on trading him out. I gotta be honest this sucks and it sucks hard, I think Eichel could be a legit star in this league but once again the Buffalo Sabres management have completely bottled everything to do with Jack. For me? I think the main players in this are the New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets and the Minnesota Wild. All of these teams have something similar/very different to offer. The Rangers have been the most talked about but I get they can give us picks but I have no fuckin clue who the Sabres would get as far as players go from the Rangers. The Kings, Wild and Blue Jackets can offer us some pretty solid players and picks but It's definitely not anyone to build a complete team around, I'm not hating on these players being talked about but they ain't Jack. Two other teams have been rumored and to me this would be INSANELY far fetched but who the fuck knows. One is Toronto with Mitch Marner and a 1st round pick for Jack Eichel and holy fuck that would be absolutely insane, 2 of the top young players in the game being traded 1 and 1? Then there's Calgary, everyone knows Johnny Gaaudreau wants out and the other rumor is Matthew Tkachuk is on the outs with the team. This rumor is my favorite trade and it would be those 2 players a first round pick for Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart, to be honest that would be one of the most insane trades in hockey history. Now what's gonna happen? I genuinely have no idea but Kevyn Adams better focus long and hard on the best return for Eichel, he needs to send him to the West coast so we never have to see him and we need to get a kings ransom for Eichel. Now let's fire these names off that are next and I'm sorry to say, it's a lot of big important parts of this team that could be out during this off season. Sam Reinhart is first, sad to say I think he's going to be another one that gets moved out, there is a ton of interest on Sam and to be honest I don't think he wants to sign here again the way management has fucked him around the past few years by making him continually sign a 1 year deal to prove himself. My prediction on Reinhart is we'll probably trade him for a 1st or 2nd round pick and a prospect, I have no clue where though. Rasmus Ristolainen is another big name and again....I think he's gonna be out. This is actually one I'm not overly upset about, Risto is a good player but he isn't good enough to be making $5.4 million/year. I think Risto actually is going to be sent to Jersey, talks seem to be heating up and we'll probably get like a 3rd and a 5th for him. Now we got two UFA's to talk about last, first we'll go with Linus Ullmark. Ullmark was probably the one bright spot outside of Reinhart this year for the Sabres. Despite not having a great win/loss record Ullmark player absolutely tremendous for Buffalo this year, he was Top 10 in much of the goalie stats and really did all he could to make this team competitive. Ullmark already said he is going to test free agency so, yup he gone. Jake McCabe. missed al lot of this season with a torn ACL but prior to being injured McCabe was a Top 10 d-man in this league. In all honesty? Maybe this is just my heart talking.....but I think McCabe is going to re-sign with the Sabres. If I'm Kevyn Adams and we plan on shipping these other 3 guys away and lose Ullmark? I give McCabe a long term contract and make him the new Captain of the team, to be honest for me it's the only move to make. Sadly only time will tell to see if the Sabres can turn this around, unfortunately I'm very pessimistic about this mainly because I've been waiting 10 plus years just to make the playoffs. I think the best move for Buffalo is for the Pegula's to step back and let the hockey guys take control of this situation. One thing I think this team should look to do is hire Ryan Miller as a goalie coach/consultant. Miller has a shit load of experience at the highest level of hockey and who better to teach 22 year old Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen what he needs to know because Luukkonen is the future in net for the Sabres. Like I said....now we play the waiting game as Sabres fans....but, Fuck how long can we keep waiting? T What began as a pretty awesome story ended as shitty as it possibly have ended. NC State was considered the "Cinderella" team of the tournament, they were 2-0 so far in Omaha which put them in the final four of the College World Series. Before their game v's Vanderbilt on Friday the Wolfpack had sidelined for "Covid Tracing" , just one player tested positive and his roommate was linked to other players that were being traced. NC State played that Friday game v's Vandy which they could have forfeited, Vandy won the game 3-1 but hats off to NC State for taking the field.
Then at 2:30 am Saturday morning, the fuckin day NC State was supposed to play Vandy to see who played in the College World Series final, the NCAA informed NC State they were kicked out of the tournament. They declared the game a no-contest and Vandy was pushed into the finals. The NCAA released a statement on twitter with the same old bullshit verbiage that the NCAA always uses. How the decision was made with the recommendation of the of tournament medical team and the county health department. They went on to say because of privacy issues they couldn't say anymore. Man, fuck the NCAA honestly. NC State fans came out in packs (pun intended) to greet their team at Doak Field where they play in North Carolina. After a legit 10 minute round of applause for their boys, the crowd started to chant "Speech, Speech. Speech", talking to Head Coach Elliot Avent. He praised his teams character, the support of the Wolfpack fans and declared NC State the National Champs. Think of these kids that weren't even supposed to be here, defied the odds and made it to the final 4....then these pieces of shit took in all away from them. They have had packed houses at every game, fans sitting side by side, no protocols for the people watching.....just the gives busting their ass for a natty title. One positive testm ruined an entire seasons worth of hard work. These kids might never have the chance to experience this shit again. The NCAA is one of the most fucked up Sports organization on this planet, right up there with FIFA and the IOC. Fuck the NCAA What an awesome day, Carl Nassib a defensive end for the Raiders came out as gay on his instagram today. In the video Nassib said " I just want to take a quick moment to say that I'm gay....I've been meaning to do this for awhile now but I finally feel comfortable". Such good shit, you can tell by the video Nassib is just so happy about it and will be an amazing advocated for the LGBT community. He stated that he is donating $100k to the Trevor Project, which is a non-profit organization that focuses on suicide prevention programs for LGBT youths. There has never been an openly gay NFL player to play in a regular season NFL game, which is about to change due the the fact Nassbib just signed a 3 year $25 million deal with the Raiders last year. Michael Sam came out as gay before the 2014 NFL draft and was drafted by the Rams but never made a regular season roster.
Nassib who was a 3rd draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2016 and has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nassib played his college football at Penn State and was named BIG10 defensive player of the year in 2015. Honestly, in a world where everything is so dark and sad this is an amazing story and great for Carl! Welp, It happened, the rest of the world has caught up to America when it comes to the UFC. By no means do I hate that because some of these champs could go down in history as the greatest of all time. But out of the eleven UFC titles just two are American and one of those two is Aljamain Sterling, the bantamweight champ who won the belt on an illegal knee. The other is Thug Rose Namajunas who is an absolute beast at strawweight. I thought it'd be interesting to take a look at the other eight title holders and see who/if there is any American that could take a belt off of one of these guys or gals. LET'S TAKE A LOOK
HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP(206-265LBS)- Francis Ngannou(Cameroon) Francis is a fuckin animal, legit one of the scariest dudes I have ever seen in the octagon. When he knocks guys out, I'll be honest sometimes I think he kill the guy. He won the title back in March with a violent KO of what some consider to be the greatest heavyweight of all-time, Stipe Miocic. Now shit, I'm not even sure who can beat Francis at all at Heavyweight, let alone the US but I'll give it my best guess. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Stipe Miocic, the former champ has beaten Ngannou before....in pretty dominate fashion too. Miocic has the record for most title defense at Heavyweight and given the right game plan and if he can stick to it I firmly believe he can beat Ngannou again. LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP(205LBS)- Jan Blachowicz(Poland) The Polish Hammer! I fuckin love this guy, legit came out of nowhere then when DC retired and Jon Jones did....whatever the fuck he's doing Jan came in to win the title over Dominick Reyes back in September of 2020. Jan has defended the title one time, handing middleweight Champ Israel Adesanya his first and only loss of his career. Jan has look so good in the last few years and it sure as shit is going to be a difficult task to dethrone him because he is just so good everywhere. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Anthony Smith, Honestly he was really my only choice here. I wanted to say Dominick Reyes but with 3 straight losses it's gonna be awhile before he gets another crack at the title. MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION(185LBS)- Israel Adesanya(Nigeria) Israel is literally one of the best middleweights I've seen, the dude literally has everything you want in promoting a fighter. After taking the belt off Robert Whitaker at UFC 243, he's defended it 3 times(Romero,Costa,Vetorri) and not a single one of those fights were really that close at all. He's funny, charismatic and an absolute killer in the octagon. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Jared Cannonier, honestly? I don't know if there is any American right now at middleweight that could even get a title shot but I think with out a doubt Cannonier is the closest. WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION(170LBS)- Kamaru Usman(Nigeria) This fuckin guy.....this fuckin guy right here? Sorry GSP but the Nigerian Nightmare is the greatest UFC welterweight of all time. Now the fact that Usman has improved his striking so much? He's the most dangerous guy in the UFC in my opinion. Usman can literally beat you anywhere, he'll grind out a win by wrestling the fuck out of you or he'll knock you the fuck out. I used to not be the biggest fan of Usman but god damn is this guy fuckin good. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Colby Covington Colby is the only choice here, Dana White has already sad Covington is next. They fought once and in that fight Kamaru broke Covington's jaw but it was an absolute war. These guys stood and threw absolute bombs for nearly 5 rounds and I cannot wait to see this re-match. LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION(155LBS)- Charles Oliveira(Brazil) Oliveira shocked the world with a TKO win over Michael Chandler at UFC 262 to win the title that was vacated by Khabib after his retirement. I say shocked, mainly due to the fact so many people forgot how good Oliveira really is. He's a dog, great BJJ, good on the feet just an overall likable dude. I didn't hate that he won and I thought it was a really feel good moment to see him finally get his shot and capitalize on it. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Justin Gaethje, this was one of the harder ones to pick. I thought about Dustin Poirier, I thought about Michael Chandler. But Dustin still has to fight Conor and if he loses Conor will most definitely get the next crack. Chandler just lost to Oliveira so he's gonna have to win a fight or two to get back at the belt. Gaethje hasn't fought since his loss to Khabib and I'd love to see him get the next shot but if Dustin beats Conor again he'll be the one to fight Oliveira. MENS FEATHERWEIGHT- Alexander Volkanovski(Austailia) I've been a huge fan of Volkanovski since he got into the UFC. Alexander the Great took the title from all-time great Max Holloway, then defended it again against Holloway. He's been getting ungodly amounts of hate from people saying he isn't the real champ because of how close both fights with Max were. I personally thought he clearly won the first but I thought Max won the re-match. But the fact is he won both fights, he's the champ and he deserves it. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Max Holloway Yeah ok, I know Brian Ortega is American and he has the next fight v's Alex but I don't think he is gonna win. Unlike everyone else I'm not gonna get all hard because Ortega has won one single fight since Max literally beat the fuck out of him and outclassed him. I think Alex wins and Max gets the third fight and finally avenges his loss. FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION(125LBS)-Brandon Moreno(Mexico) Now I already wrote a blog about Moreno and how he just won the belt last Saturday. The dude was cut from the UFC, came back and beat the unbeatable. He's a great human being and fuck is he a dangerous human being. Moreno could hold this belt for a long time. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Alex Perez I like Alex a lot and again he's really my only choice here as far as American contenders at this weight goes, but when will he be able to get a crack at the belt again? It might be a long time, he's gonna have to be real impressive to surpass some guys ahead of him. WOMEN'S FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION(125)- Valentina Shevchenko(Kyrgzstan) The Bullet, she is one of two one of the scariest women in MMA today. This girl terrifies me the way she finishes her fights, If you don't know about her go look up her KO against Jessica Eye......kick to the head sounded like a fuckin baseball bat. She is so dominant that it's tough to pick any one to beat her.....but I thinkkkkk I may have a wild card that we haven't heard from in quite awhile. MY AMERICAN CHOICE- Tatiana Suarez She last fought back in 2019, she's battled some a TON of injuries but she seems to be on the right track and hopefully can return soon. She's undefeated, she's a former TUF winner and she was the #1 ranked female wrestler in the US. Shevchenko is good on the ground but I don't think she's seen wrestling like Suarez possesses. Tatiana reminds me of the female version of Khabib and in no way will that be an easy task to stop for Valentina. WOMENS BANTAMWEIGHT/FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION(145/135LBS)- Amanda Nunes(Brazil) Don't even try to argue with me, Amanda Nunes is the greatest female MMA fighter of all time. She has beaten the who's who in women's MMA and she's on a twelve fight win streak and she has been terrorizing the women's MMA scene in the UFC for about 6 years now. Her reign of terror is going to end when the Lioness wants it to end. She's honestly one of the fighter I'm always gonna tune in to watch, she is must watch tv. She's married to UFC fighter Nina Ansaroff, they have a kid together, she's a great human, super nice to the media and just an absolute sweetheart. We thought Rousey was dominate? Rousey was the best of a bad situation, she wouldn't even be in the top 15 with the girls they got today. Also Rousey was a complete asshole, Nunes is so good and so marketable for the UFC. AMERICAN CHOICE(FEATHERWEIGHT)- Kayla Harrison Right now Harrison fights for the PFL who fights at 155LBS. She's a two time Olympic gold medalist in judo, she's 9-0 in MMA. Harrison and Nunes are teammates, but after this PFL season Harrison will be a FREE AGENT and most certainly look for a new challenge, it's tough for me to think the UFC won't be looking for more competition for Nunes in the future and for me Harrison is the only one that has any kind of shot to beat Nunes whether it be American or not. AMERICAN CHOICE(BANTAMWEIGHT)- NOT A SINGLE SOUL Honestly? There isn't one single girl at this weight I can see touching Nunes, from any country in the world. Ohhhhh man this video just really had it all. We had the douchebag wearing two watches with the terrible bowl cut, we had the brawler, we had the pussy friend who wanted no part in this equation, we had the hero's friend cheering him on, we had the supports and even the narc at the end. Let's break this down step by step, shall we? Act I: There seems to be a scuffle between a Suns fan and two Nuggets fans, who might I add are wearing more jewelry than any man should wear. They may be over compensating for something, I'm not sure. But at this time it appears cooler heads have prevailed. Act II: Then you see the guy who I like to call "double watched douchebag with bowl cut"(I know not the most clever nickname but it works) Try to throw a sucker punch at the Suns fan, he misses pretty badly.....then we make our way to act III. Act III: The suns fan, as if he was a fucking ECHL vet who spent most of his time fighting his way to get any playing time just grabs double watch douchebag by the jersey and just starts unleashing(while laughing like an absolute crazy person)an absolute barrage of uppercuts to his face. ACT IV: While reigning down absolute hammers to this dudes face which probably broke his nose, throws a right at douchebag #2 who I have dubbed "douche with ripped jeans and white trash facial hair" then....then in just a fuckin unreal power move looks at him and says "Imma fuck your boy up" before throwing one last kill shot uppercut. ACT V: Perhaps the best act of the entire 1:30 video, douchebag #1 walks away covering his face, presumably because his face was FUCKED up. Then the best line of the whole video, the hero Suns fan looks at them after delivering a beating for the ages and says "SUNS IN 4". Just an absolute exclamation on a great sequence. He is showered with mostly cheers by Suns and Nuggets fans. ACT VI: "THE FINALE" While one Nuggets supporter was vehemently sticking up for the hero, saying the douchebags fucked with him....a new villain emerges, we shall call him "Henry Hill" the fuckin narc....the rat. This fuckin guy emerges out of nowhere, to point on the hero and tell security to "get him the fuck out". Our hero is escorted out by security to end an amazing minute of fury. THE REVIEW: His name is Nick McKellar, he literally wielded the Suns to a 4 game sweep....it was all him...and Devin Booker. Honestly this couldn't have unfolded better...he says Suns in 4 and then they decimate the Nuggets. This was all dubs for Suns nation, You can check out Nick's whole break down of the altercation on the "Dave Portnoy Show" and I gotta be honest it's a fuckin amazing story. I'm gonna be honest, I just spent the last hour writing a blog for UFC 263 then all of a sudden this fuckin website just logged me out andddd It was all gone. So I'm gonna try to bring as much juice to this one as I had in the other one. It really was a great night of fights so let's re-cap it the best I can.....
MAIN EVENT- Israel Adesanya(C) Marvin Vettori Honestly this was just a classic Izzy fight. This was Adesanya's first fight since he suffered his first ever loss in his Light Heavyweight title fight v's Champion Jan Blachowicz. People wondered how Izzy would bounce back, turns out he's gonna be just fine. Adesanya is just so good at 185 it's incredible, his footwork, his head movement is just unmatched at middleweight. Vettori had no answer for anything Israel threw at him, Marvin had a couple takedowns in the first few rounds but nothing really came from any of them. Vettori almost seemed, like he had the fight won which is crazy, Izzy had a clean sweep on all three judges cards 50-45, he retains the Middleweight belt and I think a re-match with Robert Whitaker is a must net title defense for Izzy. CO-MAIN EVENT- Deiveson Figueiredo(C) v's Brandon Moreno This was a rematch the entire MMA community has been waiting for. These two fought to a draw in 2020 and could easily be talked about as the fight of the year. It was a back and forth war and both guys completely ate every fuckin shot the other guy threw. But Saturday night? Saturday night was Brandon Moreno's night. Moreno knocked down Figgy in the first round and was really just all Moreno after that. Moreno did whatever and whenever he wanted to the dominating Figueiredo. Then at the 2:26 mark of the 3RD round Moreno took Figueiredo's back to tap him out and become the NEW UFC Flyweight champ. There really isn't anyone out there who isn't happy for Moreno, quite possibly the most genuine and nice human being in the sport of mma. Moreno is the first Mexican born UFC champ ever and it couldn't have happened to a greater human being. CO-MAIN EVENT- Nate Diaz vs Leon Edwards Nate Diaz makes his long awaited return the octagon. Unfortunately it didn't go the way any of us wanted it to. Edwards is just on an incredible streak of wins right now and Diaz was forced to be apart of it. There is just something about Nate Diaz, if this dude could start the fight the way he ends fights? He honestly might be the best fighter in the world. Late in the fight Diaz hit Edwards with a phenomenal combo and completely stunned and wobbled Edwards, I'm not sure if Diaz realized it or not but he was seconds away from finishing Edwards. If this fight went a minute longer Diaz would have finished Edwards without a doubt, but there was no time left and Edwards won the fight clean on the judges scorecards 49-46. Edwards has to be next for the 170 title after Covington v's Usman. THE BEST OF THE REST: Belal Muhammad Defeats Damian Meia by Unanimous Decision. Belal finally get's his signature win against the legend Damian Meia. It's always tought to see someone like Meia go out like this but it seems his time is up in the UFC. He's 44 years old, his contract is up and is 3-5 in his last 8. I've been on the Muhammad train for awhile now and he deserves a top 6 fight next. Paul Craig Defeats Jamahal Hill by Armbar. Good lord, this was a disgusting armbar and it was made even more ridiculous by the fact Hill's arm wasn't actually broke. This is just something Paul Craig does apparently and just wins fights super late. Eryk Anders Defeats Darren Stewart by Unanimous Decision. Eryk Anders gets back in the winning column by defeating Darren Stewart in a rematch of their no-contest bout from March. Big win for Anders AKA a future guest on "From the Red Corner" Lauren Murphy Defeats Joanne Calderwood by Unanimous Decision. I have no clue how the fuck Murphy got the win on this one to be honest. It seemed to me Calderwood won this fight pretty convincingly. But it seems to be Murphy's MO by winning fights it seems to look like she lost. Unfortunately for her, her prize for this winning streak? Might very well be women's flyweight Champ Valentina Shevchenko. Terrance McKinney defeats Matt Frevola by KO. Jesus Christttttt. What a debut by McKinney, It took him just 8 seconds to win his first ever UFC fight with a violent KO if Matt Frevola. Such an amazing story and journey for this kid and couldn't be more happier for him. UP NEXT?????: UFC 264 MCGREGOR VS POIRIER III I'll be honest I don't watch golf nearly as much as I used to but god damn this rivalry is built on pure hatred and it's awesome! I've always liked Brooks and to be honest DeChambeau seems like kind of a bitch. The latest happenings in this feud is that people were yelling "atta boy Brooksy" at DeChambeau every time he hit the ball at the memorial, is it kind of lame? Yeah.....was it still hilarious? YUP.
At first it began as a friendly rivalry and such but now I truly believe these two fucking hate each other. I mean just look at Koepka's face when DeChambeau walks behind him....that's some next level hate.It all started in January 2020 when Bryson commented on a twitch stream that Brooks had "no abs" then Brooks absolutely bodied him by posting a picture of his 4 major trophies with the caption "You're right I'm two short of a 6 pack". Then in July of 2020 Bryson got named as one of the top 50 fittest athletes, in which Brooks responded with a GIF of Kenny Powers all but accusing Bryson of being on steroids. Then we have may of this year when Bryson walked behind Brooks during and interview......Brooks hates this guy so fucking much he legit couldn't speak after he walked behind him. Brooks said he lost his train of thought and proceeded to say "I'm so sick of his shit". Then there was the fans heckling Bryson at this past weekends PGA event, the guys were yelling "Brooksy" at Bryson.....and this guy is such a soft bitch that he had several people kicked out by security. He denied that he did it but people who were there said it most definitely happened. He's that much of a pussy that he can't take the lamest chirp in the history of golf? I'm sorry but my verdict is this Rivalry is all Brooks. He's winning....he has more major's......he's funnier.....he's better looking.....the scorecards are a clean sweep for Koepka. Rumors are circulating about a reunion between Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham Hotspur and I for one am alllllll for it. Now I will be honest with you, I've only been watching soccer and been a Tottenham fan for 7 years but god damn this would be awesome. I can't ever forget the run that Poch had with Spurs during the 2019 Champions League. Whether it was the wildness of the Man City matchup or the comeback win against Ajax led by Luca Moura's late winner in the dying minutes of the match, not to sound corny but that shit was magical as fuck. Now Poch is still the manager at PSG, so it won't be easy to get him out of Paris but where there's a will there's a way. This situation gets crazier by the day, one minute they report that Mauricio told PSG he want's to quit and wants out of PSG, the next minute PSG says Poch isn't going anywhere and they want him there. With the swirling speculation surrounding Antonio Conte the former Inter Milan manager becoming the new lead man at Tottenham, Spurs have to act fast to try and get Poch back at the helm in North London once again.
I want this and I need this to happen. I'll be blatantly honest I'm 34 years old and I'm not afraid to admit I love Mauricio Pochettino. Now I think Tottenham needed to re-build but I think Poch was incorrectly fired. I know that may sound like a contradiction, but at the time the players weren't buying into what Poch was teaching or trying to teach I guess. But this would be such an incredible story, Poch coming back? Righting the wrong? Finally bringing a trophy to the Spurs? I got chills just thinking about it. Let's get Poch back, win some fucking trophies and take North London! COME ON YOU SPURS! Ok.....for the second time since 2018 the Buffalo Sabres were bad enough to win the #1 pick in the NHL draft. Let's be honest the Sabres could go any route with this pick because well.....they stink. It's a pretty shallow draft prospect pool in many peoples opinions but in no way does that mean any kid they take at #1 won't be ab absolute stud for the Sabres, at least until the get frustrated with playing for the Pegula's and request a trade. So let's take a look at some of the Sabres options with this pick.
- Owen Power (6'6 213lbs) Defenseman, Michigan University (NCAA) Power is a big kid and has the ability to be a pretty good top pairing d-man in the NHL. In 26 games at Michigan, Power had 3 goals and 13 assists. -Luke Hughes (6'2 180lbs) Defenseman USA Development Program YUPPPPP another Hughes brother, their dad must have some kind of super sperm. Luke.....as you guessed it is the brother of former top picks Jack(#1 overall) of the New Jersey Devils and Quinn(#7 overall) of the Vancouver Canucks. Luke is a really good skater and has a pretty smart defensive game. Luke lacerated a tendon in March of 2021 but hope to come back and started to skate again in May. Luke is currently committed to Michigan. - Dylan Guenther (6'1 172lbs) Right Wing, Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL) Geunther is fast as hell and is a super elite goal scorer. He's 18 years old and in 24 games he has 12 goals and 12 assists. He was apart of team Canada in the U-18 tournament. - William Eklund (5'10 176lbs) Left Wing, Djurgarden (SWE) This kid as elite speed and amazing puck handles. In the Swedish Hockey league he had 11 goals and 12 assists in just 23 games. The 18yr old is an exciting player and plays on the highest level of Swedish hockey and his ceiling is very high. -Kent Johnson (6'1 167lbs) Center, Michigan University (NCAA) Jesus, Michigan just has a ton of talent on their team, still can't win. He had 27 points in just 23 games with Michigan this past season. Johnson primarily played left wing this past season but will no doubt be a center at the next level. The kid has an NHL level snap shot and his creativity with the puck is just incredible. My prediction.....and with the first pick.....in the 2021 NHL entry draft.....The Buffalo Sabres select..... Owen Power, Defenseman University of Michigan |
