This week saw the end of a glorious career. Brent Seabrook hung up the skates, calling it a career after 14 NHL seasons. A career highlighted by a World Junior gold in 2005, Olympic Gold in 2010, 3 Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013, 2015, and an All Star Game appearance in 2015. Seabrook was not known for his scoring abilities, in over 1,000 games only tallying 464 points and 361 of them assists. But Brent had heart, a stay at home defenseman, which is a dying breed in hockey, was known for his stellar net front play and grinding in the corners. He always knew where to find Patrick Kane on the half wall to start the breakout. In my eyes, Seabrook is a hall of famer. He might have not been a goal scorer, but he kept the puck out of his net. For what he did with the Blackhawks, being a part of 3 Stanley Cup winning teams speaks Volumes. And for helping his country win the gold medal in 2010 for the first time in 18 years.
