Well, Tom Wilson is at it again. Not only did he injure a player but his intention was to injure. I can understand a hit going wrong but he just shows zero remorse. Now I want to take a look at the gongshow career that is Tom Wilson. First I want to take a look at the hit on Oskar Sundqvist. The St. Louis Blues player took a nasty hit by Wilson in the pre-season of 2018-19. THE FUCKING PRE SEASON. I mean come on, I understand fighting for a position on the team, but Wilson had a spot locked up. Wilson served 14 out of the 20 games he was suspended for but the league had to overturn the suspension via appeal. What was most shocking was that it was the 4th suspension in 105 games. Now I’m going way back here, but his fist suspension in 2015. It’s game 4 of the first round of the playoffs against the Islanders. Tom Wilson gets 3 games for targeting the head of Lubomir Visnovsky. Visnovsky, a frequent concussion recipient, took the hit from Wilson and had a hard time standing. In clear physical agony Wilson skates to the penalty box just wondering what he did wrong, a horrible attempt at acting. Next we will travel to April 2016, a game against the Penguins. A game we expect any Capitals player to play hard in. But Tom Wilson took a liberty here, a vicious knee on knee his to Connor Sheary. How Wilson only got fined here is disgusting, the league should be ashamed of itself for letting this one slip bye. It’s not even the end of the calendar year, and Tom Wilson almost ruined the career of John Moore. The December matchup against the Devils shows Wilson lining up Moore from the numbers and hits him from behind. Moore was subsequently stretchered off the ice and missed the next 17 games with a concussion. The league took no action of discipline, another black eye for the Department of Player Safety. The 2018 playoffs showed Wilson at his worst, the most eggerous of the acts was a hit against Zach Aston-Reese. Aston-Reese coming off his rookie season, breaks his Jaw on a Wilson hit to the head. A disgusting play by Wilson jumping into the hit, yet the league decided the hit was inconclusive to deserve a suspension. The NHL’s Department of Player Safety is possibly the most useless department in all of sports. They fail to protect the players when “stars” of the sport do something wrong. That is including players like Brad Marchand and many slew foot incidents, Crosby using his stick as a weapon and others. But Tom Wilson abuses the system more than anyone in the game today. He is a criminal of the sport and he should be suspended not just for justice on Brandon Carlo but for all the times the league failed to take action against his play. Here's the video of the hit down below:
