Obviously one of the bigger trades we’ve seen in the NFL for quite some time, the Detroit Lions sent veteran QB Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams. In exchange for Stafford, The Lions Received a 2022 1st round pick, a 2023 1st round pick, a 2021 third round pick and 26 year old quarterback Jared Goff. As of right now I 1000000% think the Rams won this trade. The Lions are in full rebuild mode, Stafford is in my opinion one of if not the most underrated QB in the last 10 years. His career numbers are better than good but no one would know it because he played for the Lions. Look at the facts here, after Megatron retired the Lions never even tried to get him a #1 wide receiver (the closest was Golden Tate and that’s a stretch), they never had anything close to resembling a #1 running back and their offensive line has always been at best below average. Goff has some upside, but it seems the Lions won’t re-sign Golladay. I think Kerryon Johnson is actually a good running back but super under-utilized. Now all that being said, does that make the Rams Super Bowl contenders? Maybe? I think they have to be considered one of the top 3 teams in the NFC now. But who knows? The next few years will definitely tell who won this trade….
