Yeah it’s February but who gives a shit, here’s my Notre Dame football 2021 Preview. Offense:2/15/2021 Well shit 2020 was a hell of a fun year for the irish, didn’t end how any of us wanted it to but what a fuckin ride. Finishing 10-2 and beating the #1 team in the country(i don’t care if Lawrence didn’t play, eat shit). But the fact is Notre Dame is losing huge pieces of this football team going into next season. Having the #9 ranked recruiting class could help a little bit but, who knows what’s going to happen this year for the Irish. Could be fun but it also might suck a bag of balls.
Key Losses: QB Ian Book LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah OL Aaron Banks DE Ade Ogundeji DE Daelin Hayes S Houston Griffith (Transfer) DE Ovie Oghoufo (Transfer) DT Kurt Hinish Quarterbacks: Losing Ian Book is really going to sting, but i feel in this offense there’s a lot of QB’s who can be successful running this system. Two guys returning are sophomore Drew Pyne and junior Brendon Clark, both of these guys will get their chance to earn the starting job under center. But for me, i think it comes down to two guys. Grad transfer from Jack Coan(Wisconsin) and five star recruit Tyler Buchner. Jack Coan looked pretty good i thought before he got injured at Wisconsin, not the most mobile QB in the world but is still agile. Buchner is a stud, great arm and great feet, an absolute complete dual threat under center. Predicted Starter: Jack Coan Runningbacks: Kyren Williams is going to be the starter, he ran for over 1,000 yards last year and is an absolute animal. C’bo Flemmister and Chris Tyree will see a good amount of carries but Williams is the no doubt guy for Notre Dame. Predicted starter: Kyren Williams Wide Receivers/Tight Ends: With a new QB the wideouts really have to step up this year. Is there a “big play” guy in this wide receiver corps? I’m honestly not sure, Avery Davis has made some big plays but I’m not sure if he has that break-away speed. One guy to keep and out for is Braden Lenzy, he may just be the break out player in this pack of wideouts. He might be the guy who has the break-away speed and big play ability. At tight end? Come on I don’t think there’s any question that this is gonna be Michael Mayer’s aka “Baby Gronk” big year. The sophomore is just a beast, big guy speed can make the catch and run up field. Predicted Starter Wide Receivers: Avery Davis, Braden Lenzy and Kevin Austin Jr. Predicted Tight End: Michael Mayer Offensive Line: Ok, now this is a tricky one. Notre Dame is losing a ton of experience and talent from what many think was the best o-line in the country last year. Guys like Eichenberg, Hainsey, Kraemer and Banks are all gone. They brought experience and over 120 games started as a unit. Jarrett Patterson is returning which in my opinion we will have to be the anchor and veteran leader of the Offensive line. Patterson played center last year but i think you’ll see him move over to left tackle this season. Filling his place at center i feel will be Zeke Correll who started a couple games last year and most certainly held his own. You gotta figure incoming four star recruits like Blake Fisher, Caleb Johnson and Rocco Spindler will get their chance to start this year for the irish. Predicted Starter Offensive Line: Jarrett Patterson, Hunter Spears, Zeke Correll, Rocco Spindler, and Josh Lugg Next Defense….. “OUR LADY OF VICTORY!”
